Card reader that works with new iPhone (iPHone 7 or later) technology
Current card readers require audio jack. Newer iPhones don't have an audio jack. A new card reader that uses the lightning port without an adapter would be useful.
Thanks for the feedback. We agree that other methods besides the audio jack, like bluetooth, are becoming the standard for connecting mobile devices with hardware. I don't have a timeline to share at the moment for when to expect it, but bluetooth/wireless connectivity is absolutely a must-have for the next card reader device that we offer for mobile payments. In the meantime, for newer iOS devices, we recommend continuing to use the lightning adapter that comes with the phone or tablet, and we'll be sure to keep you posted on new card reader devices as news becomes available.
If MobilePay were to integrate with a P2PE validated solution, specifically Bluefin's WisePad device, the device is connected via bluetooth. P2PE validated integration significantly reduces PCI scope and and increases security.
